The Late Carrie Coyne
Mullingar Shamrocks members and executive offer sincere sympathy to the family of the late Carmel (Carrie) Coyne, Ginnell Terrace, Mullingar.
In particular, sympathy is tended to Carrie’s husband Martin and her children John, David, Sandra, Martina, Martin, Sarah and Avril. Sympathy is also extended to Carrie’s twenty-three grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her sister Audrey, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Carrie reposes at her home at 50 Ginnell Terrace, on tomorrow (Wednesday) 3 June from 4.00 pm until 7.00 pm. Carrie’s funeral Mass takes place on Thursday morning at 11.00 pm in St. Paul's Church, Delvin Road, Mullingar, followed by burial in Ballyglass Cemetery.
The Coyne family have been centrally involved in Mullingar Shamrocks since the opening of The Clubhouse. Martin has been a man of many parts for Mullingar Shamrocks. He was a very successful Bar Manager for several years. These were the days of the Sunday Lunches, the Dinner Dances in the Clubhouse (with several members of the Coyne family helping out), great times and great revenue also. Martin also had the satisfaction of winning an All-Ireland Scór Sinsir Novelty Act title in 2015 representing the club. And, of course over the years when things went wrong, Martin was the got-to man for the bits and pieces of essential maintenance, a role Martin Junior has currently inherited.
Martin and Carrie’s grandson Davy continued the Coyne managerial Clubhouse tradition when The Clubhouse reopened a few years ago and continues in the role; the support of Martin Junior and Emily has been central to keeping the show on the road.
Several of Martin and Carrie’s grandchildren are currently wearing the Mullingar Shamrocks jersey ranging from adult to Na SeamrÓigí.
As a mark of respect for Carrie, the Clubhouse Bar will be closed and all training/games scheduled for Springfield for tomorrow (Wednesday) evening have been cancelled.
