Good luck Darragh – the BIG All-Ireland final day is near.

Saturday next in Killarney, Darragh McCabe as Scór Iarmhí  and    Leinster champion will step on to the stage to compete in the All-Ireland final of the Solo Singing competition in Scór na nÓg.

This is a wonderful achievement for Darragh who also contested last year’s final and successfully defended his Westmeath and Leinster titles to qualify for the 2026  All-Ireland final. Darragh will perform The Valley of Knockanore and we thank  Catherine Nea for her work with Darragh in preparing for this final and her work with Darragh through the year.

It will be an occasion tinged with some sadness as we remember Detty – Mrs Scór – who recruited Darragh to sing in Scór and introduced Darragh's mum Emma to the wonderful world of Scór. And, this led to Emma taking the office of Cultural Officer in Mullingar Shamrocks. Emma has worked hard to promote Scór and Scór na nÓg in the club. We also acknowledge the support of Club Iarmhí  on this journey.

Our Honorary President, Patsy Rylands and Jeanette have been great supporters of Darragh and Scór over the decades and no doubt have the bags packed for Killarney.

Darragh will be competing against Gemma Casey (Roscommon), Donna Moynihan (Cork) and Einín Duggan (Down).

Darragh has been involved in Mullingar Shamrocks since his Na SeamrÓigí days as the attached pictures show and while the football career has now been set aside his immersion in Shamrocks is as great as ever.

Best of Luck, Darragh in your quest to bring back the sixth All-Ireland title to Springfield.
