Level 5 Again

Now that we are back in Level 5 Covid-19 prevention lockdown measures, individual training only is permitted. No adult or underage collective training may take place.

GAA club grounds are required to stay closed and obviously no club games are permitted.

Dressing rooms, showers and all other indoor training facilities remain closed for club activities and the club gym is closed until further notice. The only exception is that walkways may stay open for use by the community with social distancing in place. No indoor meetings can be held and outdoor coaching education courses are not permitted. No organised indoor gatherings can take place under the current restrictions.

As of now, and this is subject to review, senior inter county panels only may re-commence collective training from January 15.

For the moment, senior inter-county hurling, football, camogie and LGF players may train on an individual basis only in club or county owned gyms and the Mullingar Shamrocks club has agreed to facilitate the request of the Westmeath senior hurling management to use the Fitness Centre at Springfield for strength and conditioning work in compliance with GAA and government regulations.

No training is currently permitted for any other inter-county panels.
