Happy New Year and Thanks ...

Thanks to all those who supplied the news and helped to keep the information flowing for our members and global audience.

A special thanks this year to all those who contributed features remembering great occasions in their careers or important days in Westmeath GAA history (With a lockdown likely for the next few months we need more of these pieces ... feel free). KIeran Gavin kicked this off with his memories of his trial with West Ham complete with pictures to illustrate the story. These pieces were greatly appreciated by our members and of course by the local press who featured many of them.

We haven't forgotten the writing competition; the results will be announced when the under-age season resumes and the prizes will be presented.

The quality of production was greatly improved this year when Karen and Sophie joined the PR team and their skills are greatly appreciated. Karen takes care of the Instagram machine. Adrian Keaveney put in a fabulous effort for the Hello 2020 - Goodbye 2021 initiative. Greatly appreciated and enhanced our family oriented profile considerably.

The CludZap is also a valuable communications tool used by almost 300 followers and Declan down in Sixemilebridge is always helpful when needed.

Some members rely on the traditional media for their news on Mullingar Shamrocks so thanks to the Westmeath Examiner and Paul Hughes in particular, to Damien Maher and Paul O'Donovan in the Westmeath Topic and Randal Scally in Hogan Stand for their coverage of the club's activities.

Until the next time have a Happy Covid-19 free 2021.
